UX/UI CASE STUDY
Art Therapy App UX Development
The Problem
Users lack an accessible creative outlet to release stress and anxiety. Although art applications exist, most of their offerings are limited (for example, you may have one app for coloring, one app for relaxing noises, etc.) but there’s nothing that has it all nor has a rooted art therapy philosophy. The Solution
Developing an app that is rooter in art therapy best practices and provides different exercises for all types of users, no matter their skill level or location. The goal is for Curative to become the go-to application users use when feeling stressed, anxious, or just looking to blow off some steam.Project Objectives
- Develop an application to help users release stress
- Develop art therapy exercises that are easy to access and act upon for all users
- Design an easy-to-use interface
My Role
Throughout the project, I assumed the following roles and responsibilities:
- UX Researcher

My Tools

User Interviews
By conducting interviews I was able to identify how potential users how they currently manage stress, how they would like to manage stress, and how they would use an application like Curative.
From my findings, I was able to collect the following information:
- All interviewees regularly feel stressed or anxious
- Most interviewees have engaged in some sort of artistic activity or rely on different types of art (such as music or painting) to alleviate stress
- Most interviewees although not familiar with art therapy, were intrigued by the concept and expressed interest in partaking in art therapy exercises
